It already upsets me that I HAVE to have a local phone because my building's buzzer conveniently does not call long distance, but the newest thing that astounds me is that Comcast is so cavalier with distributing my number to every telemarketing company, political party and market research firm in the midwest.
I do not answer these calls when they come in (I really don't even answer the phone unless it is the building), but I do let them leave a voicemail. Once a month or so I log in and listen to them and delete them.
This past Sunday I went in to listen to the two dozen or so voicemails that accumulated and found a couple of hilarious election voicemails. The first one was from none other than Pat Boone.

Apparently MARK KIRK got my number passed along to MARK KIRK as if I was the Johnson family. MARK KIRK must think that someone in my household is over 60 and cares about MARK KIRK. The only thing MARK KIRK could do to seal this deal for my vote would be to call me again to remind me that Pat Boone called. He did:
